Beth has spent nearly 30 years working as a photojournalist in print and on the Internet. Her award-winning photographs have appeared in newspapers throughout the Midwest and in New Jersey, where she has earned a reputation as being one of the top sports photographers in the tri-state area.
The photos she has produced while covering the NBA, NHL, NFL and Major League Baseball are stunning. Yet, it is Beth’s work with high school athletes and little leaguers that really set her apart from other photographers. Her ability to capture the feeling and raw emotion at an event, whether it’s a t-ball baseball game among six-year-olds or a high school girls’ soccer game, is her signature.
Beth brings her subjects to life in a special and unique way. Her portraits and action photos are not simply of athletes. They are of people, each of whom has a story to tell. Through her work, Beth is able to tell those stories in a way that words would never suffice.
She is well respected in her photography, holding membership in the National Press Photographers Association [NPPA], New Jersey Press Photographers Association [NJPPA] and the New York Press Photographers Association [NYPPA].
Beth has served as a photographer for the Heart Gallery of New Jersey and has contributed to Do1Thing.org, a volunteer non-profit group that helps tells the stories of those that are less fortunate or are in need of assistance.
She has been the chief photographer for the Pequot Press Knack series of youth sport
instructional books titled: Knack Coaching Youth Soccer , Knack: Coaching Youth
Baseball and Knack: Coaching Youth Basketball . Her photography also appeared
in Pope John Paul II: An American Celebration [Elf Multimedia, 2005].
Beth is married to Rob Balbierz and lives in New Jersey with her two children, both serving as the subject of her photography on numerous occasions.
